Malee House

Price - 860 baht plus 6 baht per kw electricity
Location - 389/108, Moo 12, Soi 4, Pratamnak Rd (amongst the sea of Nordic residences)
Description - Fantastic and super friendly, clean and family run place up on Pratamnak Hill. Quiet location but you a bit away from the action of downtown Pattaya. Owners both speak French, English and Thai. They can also organise golf tours. Normally pretty fully booked with a number of long term stayers. Bookings are shown on the site.

Metro Apartments

Price - 550 baht per night, 500 for bookings of 7 days or more, 450 for monthly
Location - In Soi LK Metro, small Soi running off Soi Diana or Soi Buakhao (L shaped)
Description - Rooms look nice and clean for the price. Located near pubs, so don't expect much sleep before 1am+. Were well booked out when I tried to book around July 2006. So much for Thailand low season. Stupid World Cup, I'm blaming it anyway. I had problems ringing their listed phone number. I eventually got it to ring (it kept just cutting me off) after more than 10 attempts at various times. Read some positive comments about it.

Sanya Apartments

Price - 590 baht plus 7 baht per kw for electricity
Location - 111/150 M.10 Soi 20 Pattaya Tai (Pattaya South Road) Pattaya City, Nongprue, 20260 Chonburi, Thailand
Description - These apartments looked really nice on their website considering the price. I would have liked to stay, but they were booked out. Bookings are shown on the site.

Queen Victoria Inn

Price - 400 baht (fan), 600 baht (air-con)
Location - 437/137-8 Soi Yodsak (Soi 6), Pattaya, Chonburi Thailand 20260. Plenty of action to be had around this Soi. Probably not much sleep to be had for those early to bed.
Description - Seen plenty of favourable reviews for the Queen Victoria Inn.

Le Katai

Price - 500 baht
Location - In Soi LK Metro, small Soi running off Soi Diana or Soi Buakhao (L shaped)

Description - The rooms actually look a bit better than I was expecting after seeing their website shots. Wifi is a little flacky and drops out in Room 1. My notebook only gets 1-2 bars and is normally very good at getting signals that often other notebooks don't. There is also a computer in the room, but this is not hooked up. There is also an ethernet cable that I tried plugging in, but did not manage to successfully hit any websites. Gets rather noisy and downstairs are some girl bars.

Keerati Home Stay - Domain for their website has not been renewed

Description - Keerati Home Stay rooms look very nice with real wood but closer inspection shows poor workmanship. Many of the doors do not close easily or with a flush finish. All wiring is external and most lights are bare globes and do now have shades. Bathroom has slats with gaps that allow insects and external noise inside. Switches meant for lighting access from the bed are not reachable from the bed. Shower tap fitted in unconventional orientation. Some of these are small things, but for the money, I would have expected more professional finishings and not so many strange quirks in the design. No room safe. Keerati Home Stay has extras like pool, gym, sauna. There is some seriously bad karaoke happening on the other side of the road in a girl bar that might hinder sleeping... bring your MP3 player! Read one positive review of this place. Could not connect to the wifi network and staff were no help in this regard at first. After a second attempt I got told someone would help me the next day. At 5pm the next day a guy came and put my notebook in the firewall acceptance list.

Galaxy Suites

Price - 1200 baht
Location - Soi Diamond (off Walking Street)
Phone - Who knows? They don't list it on their website, so lost my potential booking.
Description - Nice looking place right in the heart of the action. Just off Walking Street in Soi Diamond. The more expensive rooms have a nice big jacuzzi!

The Vault Pattaya

Price - 1100 baht
Location - 118/13 Moo 10, Pratamnak Road (claims 2 minutes walk from Walking Street)
Description - Rooms look pretty nice.

Whitehouse Condotel

Price - 1250 baht (includes breakfast), read somewhere that it is 100 baht for internet access.
Location - 596/2 Moo 10, Soi 13, Pattaya 2nd Road, Pattaya City, Chonburi 20260
Description - Read some good and bad reviews. Some bad reviews felt the management did not know how to run a hotel. Very new and good location in area with other well reputed hotels.

Roof Garden Inn

Price - 700 baht
Location - 144/70 Thappraya Rd. Pattaya (another one a bit further out and up a hill)
Description - Looks clean to me on the website. Read a positive review backing this up.

Nova Park Apartments

Price - 1200 baht
Location - 80/164 Moo 9, Soi Sukrudee (Soi AR) (appears somewhere near Pattaya Central and 3rd Road)
Description - Read one not entirely convincing negative review on this place. Might be worth checking out.

Nong Apartments

Price - 900 baht, ADSL access starts at 300 baht for 1 week.
Location - 373/5-6 Moo10, Soi Yensabai Pattaya City 20260, Thailand (10 minute stroll from Walking Street).
Description - Don't know much about this one. My memory of the location was that is was rather dark, but probably pretty quiet.

Penthouse Hotel

Price - 1048 baht (with tax)
Location - Soi Pattayaland 2
Description - Read plenty of bad reviews about this place. Not meant to be in the best condition and a bit on the nose. Also reported to have a rather large creepy crawly problem. Has a novelty factor associated with it if you want to risk it. In a busy Soi.

The Mercure Pattaya also has ADSL modems you can use if you buy a very expensive access card.
