Skiing In Heaven, Zurs, Where Everything Is White And One Dimension (Lech, Zurs)

9/3/05 Wednesday

Skiing in Heaven! As close as you can get anyway. It was snowing even more than yesterday and didn't stop the whole day. I started off on the main Lech slopes and gradually started getting into the harder runs. Doing the first red run gave me some confidence... and they are in some ways easier than the blue runs because you tend to move faster and self preservation can take over from the logic of the mind.

Skiing Lech And Zurs (Lech/Zurs)

8/3/05 Tuesday

Got my skis and my ski pass and headed up the mountain. I was going to take it easy and go down the first easy run, so I follow the blue (easy) marker around a bend and find myself in a line to go all the way up the mountain. Ah well, the whole mountain it is then.

St Anton Passed On To Lech And Zurs (St Anton, Lech)

7/3/05 Monday

Well, I've had enough of St Anton. I found a place quite close to the main area, but she made me book it for 5 nights instead of 3. I walk up the top of this hill, then I get there are she says where is the other person, it is a double. I had already told her at the start that I was a single person. I also went to the bank and the teller told me that non of the banks here will give me any money, but that in the town of Lech there are about 4. So, it's off to Lech I go.

Snowy Liechtenstein And Funky Green Toilets (Vaduz, St Anton)

6/3/05 Sunday

Woo hoo, it only cost me about $160. 20% discount for being awesome or something. Actually, I think they discount prices if you rock up late... I came in around 7:30pm. I was starting to scout out places that looked less freezing than others in case I was going to have to be a bum for the night.

Germany To Austria Via Impromptu Liechtenstein Stop (Friedrichshafen, Bregenz, Vaduz)

5/3/2005 Saturday

Woke up to a picturesque window view of snow falling. Apparently there was a storm in France and it is going to snow here for at least two days. Made the trek to the train station and booked a ticket to St Anton via Bregenz. I will probably stop off in Bregenz to check the place out and perhaps see if I can scope out the situation with accommodation. I have a feeling that if I lob up in St Anton I could be sleeping with the snow bunnies... the real ones.
