10/3/05 Thursday
Got up late. One of my English friends from breakfast had left me a note on the breakfast table wishing me well on my trip. They had managed to implement my plan to get up early and hit the slopes. Today there was a bit of snow in the morning, but it soon cleared up to be a sunny day with blue skies. This doesn't mean it was warm however. I skiied both sides of Lech and down into Zurs again. This time I could actually see! At one point I was sort of doing to jump from side to side type skiing with your feet together. I tend to have mine apart. I'll have to read about skiing techniques sometime.
I tried a small part that was a black run... and nearly ended up with a black thumb.
Currently on my way to Zurich, Switzerland. Another new country I haven't been to. I was going to head for Milan, Italy, but it seems a long way. I can still get there from Zurich. I probably should have looked at some smaller scale maps before I left. Will have to find an Internet connection and figure out what to do after that.
Hrmm, Switzerland looks like Austria... snow... towns surrounded by big mountains.

Zurich is totally not what I expected. I was expecting some flash, clean new city. I think this was only because I had read it was expensive and that Switzerland have a high standard of living. Turns out it is very old. The colours seem quite washed out, like watching an older British TV show. There wasn't much here that interested me... although at night you can feel it is a party town.
I stayed in the old town area... right near what appeared to be strip clubs. I walked around and there seemed plenty of normal looking people around, so I figured I was okay. Sleeping was nigh impossible with tram's making ungodly noises and the worst bed I have slept in yet. I thought Austrian beds were bad.
