Signs Your Holiday Was Lacking Fun

If your holiday contained any of the following, it is possible you could of had more fun on your holiday.

You are walking around filming your whole airport experience, including check-in and departure. Airports are generally not considered a highlight of any trip.
All your pictures are of churches. Get out, check out the local culture.
Going home was the best part.
You got home and can't remember having any fun... unless of course you were so drunk the whole time that you don't remember. I have heard stories of people believing they missed out on seeing certain tourist attractions, only to be informed by their friends that they had actually been there.

Forgotten Your Bank ATM Card PIN Number?

Did you forget that pesky 4 digit PIN number code? Drink too many beers, been brainwashed by aliens, it happens to the best of us... I mean I've even forgotten my ATM PIN? This is particularly annoying if you are travelling. Most banks will only mail you a PIN number and the PIN number cannot be retrieved over the phone.

Remember not to attempt your PIN more than 3 times, otherwise your ATM card may be eaten by the hungry ATM machine. This complicates matters even further and is even more of a pain to get back than finding out what your PIN number is.

If you are short on cash and have a credit card, you can go to an exchange bureau. Don't forget your passport though as it is needed for identification. With a passport, your credit card and a few signatures (and perhaps some strange looks by the person serving you) you should be able to get out some money to keep you going until you can arrange to retrieve the PIN number... or preferably it suddenly bubbles it's way back up to your usable brain.

Lost your credit card whilst travelling? A very good way to mess up your holiday.

I lost my credit card once at the start of what was going to be a proposed 6 month holiday. That trip turned out to be a bit of a rollercoaster and only lasted about 2.5 months, but losing my credit card was the first big dip... actually, that was missing my first flight. Sleep... such an important thing ;)

When I first realised I had lost my credit card, I panicked...

After I had calmed down a bit, I went to the place where I had last used my credit card (and presumably lost it). Unfortunately for me, the credit card was not there.

Backpacking Tip 1
- Backpack! Make sure you get a good quality backpack that fits you and is comfortable.

Backpacking Tip 2
- Pack that backpack as lightly as possible, you are going to get really tired of carrying it.

Backpacking Tip 3
- Plan your travels ahead, but try to remain as flexible as possible to allow for exciting excursions or extended stays in locations you are really enjoying. Do remember however that being too flexible can end up a costly mistake in high season. Try to determine the popularity of places you are wanting to see and the likelyhood of accomodation filling up.
